We’re making the Reed.co.uk jobseeker app even better!

We get that not everyone loves Mondays – but we want to make the job seeking experience for candidates even better, to help them get a job they’ll adore. That’s why our mobile app team has been improving the usability of the Reed.co.uk Job Search app.

Our jobseeker app was designed to make searching for a job more accessible and convenient for our candidates. Over 2.4 million people have downloaded the app and it now accounts for 27% of applications made on Reed.co.uk. Thanks to our new features and updated design, we can continue to put your jobs right in front of the most relevant and suitable candidates, at all times.

What’s new?

We’ve recently launched new features that work alongside our intelligent recommendations system to ensure that your roles seamlessly reach the right candidates and increase your applications. Here are some of the new features:

Candidates can filter their search by sector

Whether your business sits within Technology, Health & Social Care, or Financial Services, candidates can now search for roles in specific sectors, meaning that your roles will be even more visible to relevant jobseekers.

New jobs are labelled and appear at the top of search results

Jobs that have been added since a candidate’s last visit to the app are now clearly highlighted at the top of their search results. This helps the most recent jobs stand out and saves candidates from having to filter their search.

The new jobs label feature will only spotlight jobs that are relevant to the candidate based on their previous searches, which means that your recent jobs will be seen by jobseekers looking for similar roles.

‘Work from home’ is a new filter option

We know how popular remote working is and how it can attract great candidates. Now, candidates can filter their job search to only see ‘work from home’ (WFH) roles.

Candidates will receive feedback on the status of their applications

Candidates can now see that they have successfully submitted their application and when an employer has viewed it. With ‘ghosting’ prevalent in the jobs market today, this feature allows seamless updates to be shared with the candidate and improves their experience while job hunting.

On the confirmation screen, candidates will see similar roles for them. This update highlights your roles to relevant candidates who are actively looking for similar jobs.

We’ve added the ‘Average Salary Checker’ to promote salary transparency

Candidates can now see the average salary for the types of roles that they’re applying for. Our research shows that salary is still the top priority for jobseekers and they want to know where they stand in terms of compensation.

Job ads that display a salary receive 37% more applications* than those that don’t. Showing a salary can help to attract more diverse and qualified applicants, and with this information now clearly displayed for candidates, including a salary is key.

Making the app more accessible through light and dark mode

Our app users can choose if they search for a job search in light or dark mode. This helps make the experience easy and accessible to all.

Automatic profile syncing to save application progress

With profile syncing, candidates can flitter between job searching on the app or the site. They can pick up where they left off without ever missing one of your opportunities.

How will the new features help my business?

The ease of use allows candidates to view your jobs on their commute, during a spare few minutes in the middle of their day, or on the sofa in the evening. They can filter their search, save jobs, apply with one click, and receive job alert notifications.
