Why is this Safeguarding Adults at Risk - Level 1 course essential?
The health and social care sector can make a positive contribution towards safeguarding those less able to protect themselves from harm, neglect or abuse. Central to effective safeguarding management are trusting and supportive relationships, based upon dignity and respect, between patients, their families and health and social care staff. There are, however, distressing examples where this has failed as documented and findings of Serious Case Reviews where there have been significant concerns about adult protection or system failures.
Health and social care organisations have a responsibility to implement a systematic approach, effective leadership at all levels and an organisational culture where care and compassion are valued.
