Course Curriculum:

  • Module 01: Introduction to Food Labelling-This module covers the history & policy of food labelling, stakeholders, the role of governments, producers and consumers in food labelling
  • Module 02: General Principles of Food Labelling- It focuses on the various food supplements, fortified foods, Alcoholic Beverage Labelling and Nutrition and Health Claims.
  • Module 03: Components of a Food Label- This module provides an overview of the food identity ingredient lists and quantitative ingredient declaration (Quid), food additive, labelling allergenic ingredients and date marking.
  • Module 04: Nutrition Labelling- This module guides you through nutrition information, the amount of information required, and how important the information presented is.
  • Module 05: Enforcement Bodies and Relevant Legislation in the UK- This module covers local government food authorities, wider responsibilities of local food regulators, national arrangements for consumer complaints about food labelling, the outline of relevant legislation relating to food and beverage labelling, future trends
  • Module 6: UK Regulations and Laws on Food Labelling- It focuses on food standards, food labelling, organic foods, beef and veal, loose foods, food supplements, food allergens and country of origin.
  • Module 07: Public Health and Food Safety-This module providesIssues of food safety with public health, elements of food safety, the vital risk assessment process, nutrition policy, nutrition, health and related claims

Course Assessment

To simplify the procedure of evaluation and accreditation for learners, we provide an automated assessment system. Upon completion of an online module, you will immediately be given access to a specifically crafted MCQ test. The results will be evaluated instantly, and the score will be displayed for your perusal. For each test, the pass mark will be set to 60%.
