Module three introduces CSS quick section overview, intro – why use CSS? Inserting into code, colours, selectors, properties – background, font, and border properties. You’ll also explore the box model – intro to the div element, making simple box model layouts – using div elements, incorporating the box model into a blog page, and relative vs absolute positioning.
Basics of Web Design
Module four demonstrates working with fonts and icons, colours, images, whitespaces, layout & user experience (UX), and the secret to making great websites.
Project: Building a Website from Scratch (with CSS and HTML)
This moduleextensively demonstrates rules for designing a good website and project requirements: making a website for digital services, an overview of the digestive project, and the digisolve project – getting started, setting up a fluid grid, building the webpage header, the more info button section, logo + menu, and about us page. Next, you’ll introduce yourself to the portfolio section, services page, featured clients' page, testimonials page, popular packages section, continued and the contact form.
Making the Page Responsive
Module fiveintroduces using media queries – parts 1 to 2, and browser compatibility.
Adding Effects and Animations with JQuery
This module demonstrates an intro to jquery, creating sticky navigation, scrolling to target elements, and adding animations without coding! And continuation.
Optimising and Launching the Website
Module six will enable you to optimise website performance, image optimisation, minifying the code, launch the web page, and Seo mini-course.
CSS under the Hood
This module demonstrateshow CSS works in parts 1 to 2 and cascades.
Intro to SASS and NPM
Module eight introduces Sass, fundamental principles – variables, nesting, mixins, extends, functions, command line basics, and npm.
Good CSS Practices
Module nine demonstrates planning out your CSS, the beam model, an ideal folder and file structure for a CSS project, and different layouts.
Project - Building a Country Club Website with SASS, and CSS
Module ten extensively demonstrates the Lakeview project overview, setting up the project with starter code & resources, creating a background image for the header slider, automatic page reload with npm and live-server, typography for the header, creating buttons for the header, and a fluid grid from scratch. You’ll also explore building about sections 1 to 2, the testimonials section to part 2, the testimonials about section 3, club amenities parts 1 to 2, and the contact form parts 1 to 3.
Advanced Responsive Design
This moduledemonstratesmobile-first vs desktop-first design, media queries with sass parts 2 to 4, making images responsive and optimised, expands to density switching using CDN, ensuring browser support and firefox parts 1 to 2 and project overview for “bizwizz” website. You’ll also explore setting up the project, creating the header section, animated button, SVG waves, services section, downloading and using SVG icons, creating the meet our team section, an image gallery, expanding to the testimonials section parts 1, 2 & 3, the contact section and cta section.
Starting a Career As a Web Designer
Module twelve demonstratescreating a web developer resume, contacting recruiters, getting started with freelancing, top freelance websites, and personal branding.
