Refresh your knowledge of the Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS).
Accredited by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), this SSSTS refresher course enables site supervisors to refresh their skills, update their knowledge, and keep their professional qualification valid.
The SSSTS refresher provides candidates with an updated understanding of the relevant health, safety, welfare, environmental, and legal issues, including any legislation changes that affect their role and workplace
You must attend the refresher course before expiry of your existing SSSTS certificate.

CITB Site Supervisors' Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)
Description
This is a highly interactive remote classroom course allows you to study your SSSTS refresher online and incorporates case studies, classroom discussion, group work, and individual or group presentations. Subjects covered are:
- The Health and Safety at Work Act and HSE regulations
- Control measures and risk assessments
- Legal responsibilities of site supervisors
- Specific site issues that challenge supervisors daily
- Useful toolbox talks (a short presentation on a specific area of health and safety, presented by the candidates)
- Supervision of occupational health
- Behavioural safety
Who is this course for?
The CITB SSSTS refresher course is suitable for site managers, agents, and other construction industry professionals who have gained SSSTS accreditation in the past five years. Each SSSTS certificate lapses after five years, so the fresher course must be completed before that date. If the certificate is allowed to expire, you can only regain it by retaking the full SSSTS course.
Requirements
There are no entry requirements for this qualification, however learners must have a current full SSSTS certificate. .
It is important that learners have a suitable standard of English language in order to understand and articulate the concepts contained in the syllabus.
Career path
Each SSSTS certificate should be renewed every five years via the refresher course. This is to allow for changes in technology, legislation, environmental management, and cultural behaviour.
Candidates can also progress to the Site Management Safety Training Scheme course.
