Level 3 Certificate in Phlebotomy – CPD Accredited Course – 40 Credits

To achieve the Certificate in Phlebotomy, the learner must complete both parts and earn a minimum of 4 units (40 CPD credits).

Course Outline:

The course is split into two mandatory parts—both must be passed to obtain the Level 3 Certificate in Phlebotomy.

Phlebotomy Part 1 – Theoretical + Practical Session (ultra-modern simulation equipment)

Unit 1: Introduction to Phlebotomy

  • Learning Outcome 1: Introduction to Phlebotomy
  • Learning Outcome 2: Role & Responsibilities of the Phlebotomist
  • Learning Outcome 3: Understand the terminology of phlebotomy
  • Learning Outcome 4: Phlebotomy equipment & its proper use
  • Learning Outcome 5: Overview of Venipuncture & Capillary Sampling procedures

Unit 2: Safe Practices, Infection Control, Health & Safety and Legal Issues in Phlebotomy

  • Learning Outcome 1: Identifying infection types and prevention methods
  • Learning Outcome 2: Ensuring workplace health and safety for venipuncture
  • Learning Outcome 3: Awareness of legal issues in phlebotomy practice
  • Learning Outcome 4: Understanding quality assurance in phlebotomy

Unit 3: Application of Basic Phlebotomy Skills and Techniques using ultra-modern simulation equipment

  • Learning Outcome 1: Demonstrating correct hand-washing techniques
  • Learning Outcome 2: Applying infection prevention precautions
  • Learning Outcome 3: Correct use of a tourniquet
  • Learning Outcome 4: Performing cannulation and venipuncture
  • Learning Outcome 5: Applying basic phlebotomy practices and techniques

Upon successful completion of Part 1, learners receive a Certificate of Attendance from Inspire London College. Participants may then progress to the Advanced Practical Session (Part 2).

Phlebotomy Part 2: Advanced Practical Session – Part 2 Fee – (£350 Normal fee) only Pay £270 (Offer for Limited Time)

In Part 2, learners explore the role of a phlebotomist in a clinical environment, including NHS professional standards, codes of practice, policies, and procedures, under expert supervision.

Unit 4: Applying Advanced Phlebotomy Skills and Techniques (Advanced Practical Session) in Clinical Atmosphere

  • Learning Outcome 1: Hand-washing within a clinical setting
  • Learning Outcome 2: Applying infection control protocols
  • Learning Outcome 3: Proper use of tourniquet in practice
  • Learning Outcome 4: Performing cannulation techniques & venipuncture
  • Learning Outcome 5: Practicing advanced phlebotomy methods with confidence

Upon successful completion of Part 2, learners receive a Certificate of Competence, qualifying them to perform phlebotomy without close supervision.

Phlebotomy Certification

  • Upon Part 1 completion, learners gain a Certificate of Attendance.
  • After Part 2, they receive a Certificate of Competence.
  • Completing both parts grants the CPD-accredited Level 3 Certificate in Phlebotomy, issued within 10 working days.
  • The certification is valid for 2 years from the date of issue.

How much is the part 2 training and will I be qualified to get a phlebotomist role after part 1 and 2

Answer:

Part 2 – Advanced Practical Session/Live Blood Session. We will send you to the GP clinic for your practice session. In the GP clinic, you will be shadowing the trained phlebotomist. The fee for part 2 is £250. Part 2 will be at our associated GP clinic in West London, Southall, Chiswick, Greenford or Perivale.

No, there is fix location which is a GP Clinic for Part 2. Learner need to choose date only to do his/her Part 2.
