Overview

Criminology is the study of crime, its causes, and the best way to prevent it. Its goal aside from prevention is to reduce crime rate. Crimes cause mental distress to residents in areas that have high crime rate, and studies have shown that the neighbourhood environment has an impact with the mental health of residents.

The study of criminology helps understand criminal behaviour which is necessary to prevent crimes having the same pattern, and the study includes the causes of the crime, why it has been committed, where it started and for some instances where it had spread.
