**Level 4 Certificate for Higher Level Teaching Assistants (RQF)**

Course Duration
These hours include all contact time, guidance, or supervision provided to a learner by a lecturer, supervisor, tutor, trainer, or other qualified education or training professionals.
Guided Learning Hours for this qualification is 87.
Total Qualification Time (TQT) includes Guided Learning Hours (GLH) and an estimate of the time a learner will spend on preparation, study, and other learning activities, including assessments, that are directed by, but not supervised by, a lecturer, supervisor, or tutor. The credit value for a qualification is based on TQT, with one credit equal to 10 hours of learning.
Total Qualification Time for this qualification is 360 hours.
Assessment
Assessment for this qualification is completed through tutor-marked assignments. After each unit, learners are required to answer a series of comprehensive questions, which are then marked by a tutor and assessed by a qualified professional.
To ensure all assignments meet the required standards, every task is subject to both internal and external moderation.
NB: At least 50 hours of work placement within a school is required to accomplish this assessment. The work setting can either be a primary, secondary or special school with pupils aged 5+ and studying Key Stage 1 or above.
As part of this placement, learners must have a supervisor with relevant occupational competence to oversee and sign witness testimonies. This ensures that all work-based learning outcomes for the programme are properly achieved.
Method of Assessment
- Assessment activities consist of a few short assignments that you have to complete to show evidence of general reading while adding references to your work.
- All assignments should be submitted via the online portal.
- All learning outcomes must be met to achieve a Pass – there is no grading.
Certification
Successful candidates will be awarded a Level 4 Certificate for Higher Level Teaching Assistants (RQF) from Focus Awards Limited.
You will also get CPD accredited Teach the Teachers Level 3, Education Management, Educational Psychology and Development, Lesson Planning for Teaching, and Home Education courses certificates from Apex Learning.
