Overview
The aim of this qualification is to recognise the knowledge, skills and competence of individuals who work in this area of the construction industry. It is appropriate for learners who have some knowledge and basic skills with a trowel, likely to have been gained from working in a role under supervision. This qualification enables learners to gain recognition for their skills and the potential to take on more responsibility in the workplace.
Its main objective is to confirm the learner's occupational competence as a Trowel Occupations. Being a work-related, competence-based qualification it will provide, on completion, confirmation to employers, industry managers and card schemes that learners have the skills and knowledge needed to meet the nationally recognised standard to carry out their preferred role.

Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Trowel Occupations (Construction) (RQF)
Description
Candidates must demonstrate the level of knowledge described in the unit. Assessment is the process of measuring a candidate’s knowledge and understanding against the standards set in the qualification.
Each candidate is required to produce evidence which demonstrates their achievement of all of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit.
Learners can leverage on the skills and knowledge acquired from achievement of this qualification when working towards earning another qualification or gaining employment.
The awarding organisation for this qualification is ProQual Awarding Body and the regulatory body is the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual).
The specification for these qualifications has been approved by the Welsh Government for use by centres in Wales and by the Council for the Curriculum Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) for use by centres in Northern Ireland
Who is this course for?
This Qualification is for individual or group who already are working and has good knowledge of carrying out trowel occupations on their construction site.
Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
ASQ will carry out an initial assessment of candidate skills and knowledge to identify any gaps and help plan the assessment.
Career path
This qualification on completion will lead to CSCS Blue Card and it is a required step when progressing to a level 3 in trowel occupation.
