Description

Poker has a storied history in America.

From the smoke filled saloons of Texas to the bright lights of Vegas, Poker, and the large amounts of money earned by the best players, have captured the imagination of the country and world.

It definitely captured my imagination as a young man, which is why I started playing No Limit Texas Hold Em for hours every single day at the age of 17.

I played hundreds of hands per day and dozens of online tournaments per week, as well as real life face to face tournaments in casinos from North Idaho to Las Vegas.

As my poker skills improved I began winning large tournaments on a regular basis and even made a living playing poker for two years.

1. The mindset of a poker player

''Incredible course and tons of information and insight. I am watching it multiple times to pick up all of the tips and strategies explained in the lessons.''

''

Lots of terminology & slang that I didn't know are being used. (I looked them up using google).

Greg Vanderford covers "correct" play, psychology, betting, odds etc. very well with lots of reinforcement.

Update: Now completed 76% of the videos. I am going to watch them again. As well as review supplementary info, recommended book, & currently watching Matt Damon in "Rounders."

Background: 14 days ago I was invited to a social game of poker and wanted to network (just like Matt Damon did with the judges & professors playing poker at school). I was a complete beginner before but now steadily winning in Zynga & WSOP online poker apps. (the social game I was invited to is in 2 days and I am confident and more than ready). Also, I find that I am more logical and make better decisions as well as have more fun in life & and in business.

I plan to use Deep Trance Identification (DTI) to role model some great players and my natural first choice would be Greg Vanderford since I spent the most time studying under him (and Matt Damon is just an actor).''

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
