What you’ll learn:

This course is divided into six key units:

  • Research Methods – How sociologists investigate society
  • Identity: Self and Society – How we develop identity and social roles
  • Social Stratification and Inequality – Causes and effects of inequality
  • Family – How family structures and roles are evolving
  • Education – The function of education and factors influencing achievement
  • Crime, Deviance, and Social Control – Crime patterns and social responses

Assessment:

Students will complete two written exams:

  • Paper 1: Research Methods, Identity, and Inequality – 2 hours, 50% of IGCSE
