Nutrition and health focus on the role of diet, veterinary oversight, exercise, and wellbeing in supporting working dogs. Learners explore common health considerations and the importance of structured care in guide dog training programmes, without providing veterinary or clinical guidance.
Business and management skills introduce learners to the organisational side of guide dog training services. Topics include business planning awareness, marketing considerations, budgeting, financial oversight, and professional communication with clients and families within ethical boundaries.
Ethics and professionalism conclude the course, covering ethical considerations, professional conduct, cultural sensitivity, legal and regulatory awareness, and collaborative working with other professionals. Learners gain insight into the responsibilities and limitations that apply to guide dog trainers operating within regulated frameworks.
The final assessment evaluates learners’ understanding of guide dog trainer principles, ethical awareness, and professional context.

Upon successful completion of the Guide Dog Training Awareness Level 3 course, learners will receive a free digital certificate from Reed confirming course completion.
