Defining delegation with reference to benefits for the individual, manager and
organisation
• Describing the links between delegation and motivation and their influence on the role of
the manager
• Identifying an appropriate task to delegate from your current workload and developing a
model-based objective for completion
• Nominating potential delegates to complete the task and formulating a communication
strategy for them
• Employing a seven step process for briefing in a chosen task to maximise efficient and
effective completion
• Selecting an appropriate management style and control method for the chosen task
• Planning a feedback session based on a delegated task
• Generating options for future development opportunities to motivate and develop
individuals
• Practicing delegation of a task using methods covered in a face-to-face environment
• Identifying a range of strategies to deal with common issues arising within the delegation
process
