Description

Contents

At the end of the programme participants will;

  • Have a greater awareness and understanding of what constitutes bullying, its effects on the individual and the organisation, and the health and safety implications
  • Increase their knowledge of the relevant legislation as it applies to bullying, and their management responsibilities within their organisations policy and code of practice
  • Know how to handle bullying informally and formally
  • Understand the impact of their own behaviour on others, and set standards of behaviour for their teams
  • Develop personal and team action plans which will help create a positive work environment

Course benefits

Workplace bullying and/or harrassment can be defined as offensive behaviour through cruel, malicious, vindictive, or humiliating ways to undermine individuals or groups of employees. Abuse of power often causes chronic stress and anxiety such that the employees gradually lose self confidence and belief in themselves.

This course is ideally suited to enable participants to recognise symptoms of bullying and/or harrassment in the early stages and deal with them effectively.

Additional information

Participants should read, and bring along their own organisation’s policy and procedures for bullying – if these currently exist.

Trainers background

The trainer for this course is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development and holds a variety of coaching and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) qualifications which she uses in performance coaching, stress and change management. This course is ideally suited for anyone who wishes to be able to identify and where necessary be able to deal appropriately with bullying and or harassment in the workplace.
