Overview

Develop practical data science skills with the London School of Emerging Technology (LSET). This classroom-based Data Science with Python course explores Python programming, data analysis, visualisation, machine learning and deep learning.

Work with NumPy, pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, scikit-learn, TensorFlow and Keras. Through guided practical sessions, projects and assignments, learners explore how to prepare datasets, communicate findings and develop predictive models.

What You Will Learn
  • Use Python and Jupyter Notebooks for data science.
  • Manipulate numerical data with NumPy and analyse datasets with pandas.
  • Create statistical plots and interactive visualisations.
  • Apply supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques.
  • Evaluate models using performance metrics and cross-validation.
  • Explore neural networks with TensorFlow and Keras.
  • Practise feature engineering, model tuning and introductory MLOps workflows.
Practical Learning and Assessment

The course combines hands-on practice, interactive teaching and project development, with industry professional mentor support.

LSET’s published evaluation criteria include 18 coding exercises, 5 assignments, 5 quizzes, a capstone project, group activities and presentations.

This course is suitable for learners with some prior programming experience, including those building a foundation in data science and professionals exploring a move into the field.
