The Diploma in Basic Chemistry – Level 3 (USA Standards) will teach learners the scientific discipline that involves the compounds composed of atoms, their composition, properties, structures and reactions to other compounds. Chemistry is sometimes considered as the central science as it provides a foundation for understanding basic and applied scientific disciplines at a basic level. Chemistry is a very important subject that is essential to understand and study the world around you. Simply put, chemistry is needed to understand the cooking process. Chemistry explains how food changes when you cook, how it rots, how to preserve it and how your body uses the food.

Knowledge of basic chemistry is a must for everyone’s life. It is important to have an understanding of basic chemistry to comprehend different things in life. Whether you are a student of Physics of Biology, knowledge of basic chemistry is vital if you want to excel in your field of study. The qualification will also prove worthwhile for various job positions in the job market.

The Diploma in Basic Chemistry – Level 3 (USA Standards) will introduce learners to basic chemistry by covering on topics such as sub disciplines, chemical compounds and molecules. You will also gain insight into modern chemistry, substances verses mixtures, phase and bonding. Learn about the laboratory safety practices and methods. The course will help individuals learn about energy, reaction, acidity, basicity and alkalinity. Additionally, the course will touch on pH and the calculations of pH, main group elements and lanthanides through as well.

The course has been endorsed under the Quality Licence Scheme. This means that Global Edulink has undergone an external quality check to ensure that the organisation and the courses it offers, meet defined quality criteria. The completion of this course alone does not lead to a regulated qualification* but may be used as evidence of knowledge and skills gained. The Learner Unit Summary may be used as evidence towards Recognition of Prior Learning if you wish to progress your studies in this subject. To this end the learning outcomes of the course have been benchmarked at Level 3 against level descriptors published by Ofqual, to indicate the depth of study and level of demand/complexity involved in successful completion by the learner.

The course itself has been designed by Global Edulink to meet specific learners’ and/or employers’ requirements which cannot be satisfied through current regulated qualifications. Quality License Scheme endorsement involves robust and rigorous quality audits by external auditors to ensure quality is continually met. A review of courses is carried out as part of the endorsement process.

*Regulated qualification refers to those qualifications that are regulated by Ofqual / CCEA / Qualification Wales
