Sports Direct are looking for a Health and Safety Trainer on a full time basis.

You will be an integral member of the team, working alongside and supporting our Retail and Warehouse Safety Officers, the Health & Safety Coordinator and the Liability Claims team.
As a Health & Safety Trainer, you’ll be responsible for delivering a variety of Warehouse Procedures, You will deliver First Aid, H&S courses and Fire Safety programmes at our Shirebrook site.
Specifically, you’ll deliver both accredited and non-accredited health and safety training courses to a broad and varied audience. You will also need to be qualified and experienced in delivering FAAW and EFAAW First Aid training, through our registered accredited Training Centre.
You will deliver Drug and Alcohol testing training to our shift teams, so need to be flexible in terms of hours worked and have the ability to travel to other sites when necessary.
We need a proactive approach, with someone who has the ability to complete a training needs analysis. Who can then build an effective and robust training programme for the year.
You’ll help to design new courses and revise existing ones, including lesson plans, course programmes, presentations and other materials. You will establish a robust Induction training programme and refresher system.
Above all, you will ensure the health and safety of yourself and others whilst at work, following company policies and procedures at all times. Ensuring all training is recorded and available for future reference.
You will support other brands and areas of the business as directed by the Head of Health & Safety, building professional relationships and delivering high standards of customer service. This may include occasional travel and overnight stays, which are subject to the company Travel and Expenses policy.
The delivery and administration of our British Safety Council and Qualsafe registered Training courses and centres is a requirement of the successful applicant.
To be considered, you must have:
- A proven track record of delivering quality assured training programmes, ideally within the Health and Safety/Warehouse sector
- At a minimum, a NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent Level 3 H&S qualification
- An adult teaching qualification PTLLS Level 3 or equivalent
- A current First Aid at Work training qualification
- A moving and handling trainer qualification
- A full clean driving licence
Personable and articulate, as a Health & Safety Trainer, you must have great interpersonal and relationship-building skills. A positive, proactive approach and excellent time-management abilities are also key.
Ideally, you’ll have at least 2 years training experience, and the ability to deliver fire, general safety and health courses. Registration with IOSH or equivalent to deliver Health & Safety training would also be advantageous.
