This is fantastic opportunity to work at this prestigious horse racing event and full training will be provided. Customer Service Betting Assistants will be responsible for providing an excellent, friendly, and courteous service to all race-goers and taking their bets during Royal Ascot week.

You MUST be available for 1 day's induction training, 2 live race days (which will be arranged on the induction training day) and the full 5 Days of Royal Ascot from 19th - 23rd June 2018.

Please note: all temporary candidates MUST be over 18 years old. Hourly rates: £7.83 per hour for training days and £8.61 per hour for Royal Ascot week.


  • Full induction day training provided plus 2 live experience days working at various racecourses (PLEASE NOTE: training will only be paid once the 2 live experience days have been worked).

  • All training days are full days from 10.30am for around 6 hrs.

  • Royal Ascot week times are 10:30am to 6.30pm approx. - lunch breaks are paid but you must bring your own food.

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing customers with a friendly and efficient service; accepting bets on races in a timely fashion.

  • Processing the range of bets through terminals or hand held devices using a simple touchscreen terminal.

  • Paying-out to winning customers in a discreet manner whilst sharing the excitement of their success.

  • Distributing marketing material when required and pro-actively explain promotions to customers.

  • Confidently be conversant with betting products (training will be given).

  • Complying with company policies in relation to gambling compliance laws. Any other duties requested by your line manager in relation to your role.

    Essential Skills/ Experience:

  • Previous customer service experience would be beneficial

  • Able to work effectively under pressure

  • Good with figures and confident handling cash

  • Strong communication skills

  • Confident and outgoing personality

  • Friendly and approachable

  • Always willing to help both customers and colleagues
