Overview

Bipolar disorder is characterized by episodes of extreme mood swings from extreme happiness to periods of depression with suicidal tendencies. Episodes are called mania or manic episodes. Some manic episode symptoms are restlessness, racing thoughts, lack of concentration, risky behavior, poor judgement, aggressive behavior and misuse of drugs and alcohol.

Manic episodes vary in length, and it could last from weeks to months. However help is available as there are treatments and methodologies designed to treat bipolar disorder.

Description

At the end of this course, students shall learn how to: (1) assess manic-depressive disorder; (2) promote strategies for recovering from manic depression; (3) understand compliance with treatment; (4) do CBT or mental therapy; (5) understand relationship between manic-depressive disorders and social rhythms (6) learn the roles of family work in manic depression; (7) understand other addiction and other mental illnesses; and (8) detect early signs of manic depression.

To achieve these goals, this course shall make use of interactive materials to present the concepts of the topics to be discussed. Assessments shall be done after the entire course to check for knowledge retention and understanding.

Everyone needs to live their lives on a day to day basis and our mood doesn’t have to control how the day should turn out.

Certificate

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be awarded an IOLEN Certificate of Achievement from IOLEN Accreditation. This should help validate their learning experience and skill, and can be used as a resume builder.

Course Format

This course is divided into several modules and is delivered online through our interactive learning management system. Students are given access to the learning portal where they can access the course 24/7. Course Duration:
