Description

The programme will be delivered online and is expected to last the majority of learners between 12 – 18 months.

The first qualification – The Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training fully qualifies you to teach in the FE sector (ages 14+) and begins on Monday 10th May. It contains 9 study units, with assignment hand-in dates every 5-7 weeks. There are live tutorials (minimum of x2 per unit) that take place on a selected weeknight evening based on the preference of the majority of the class. These are also recorded and are available to watch after. All resources are provided and you will be placed in a tutor group of up to 30 learners. We expect on average learners will need to allocate 3-6 hours per week to study.

The second qualification is the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA). On completion, you will be a qualified practitioner in assessing. This course will follow the Level 5 Diploma and will be mostly self-paced, although you will have an allocated tutor and candidates provided to assess if required.

In addition, and on completion of the Level 5 Diploma you may want to consider applying for QTLS (Qualified Teacher Learning Skills) status. This has its own application process separate from us, but in order to be accepted onto the QTLS programme you will need to provide a supporting person who must be a fully qualified teacher, as your ‘supporter’. We will provide this person for you if required, which will normally be your course tutor.

Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
