Overview

Due to new legislation, litigation, advocacy and funding over the past few decades, the numbers of school-age children with developmental disabilities who are residing in residential institutions has been drastically reduced. The manner in which we educate students with disabilities has progressed dramatically, so that now services that are more appropriate for students with developmental disabilities are provided in public schools. This course provides techniques and strategies for facilitating the optimal learning experience for students with developmental disabilities.
