Coaches often work with teams as well as individuals, ranging from professional sports people to community teams or school groups. Their primary function is to improve performance.

Sports coaches often advise on training programmes and their components, such as diet, sleep patterns, mental stimulus and external activities. It’s this mix of psychological and social influences that needs to be funneled or channeled in a positive direction if the sportsman or sportswoman is to achieve to their maximum potential.

Coaches develop physical and physiological fitness, and aim to provide the best possible environment and conditions for their participants’ maximal performance. They are frequently treated more as a mentor than a trainer.

Hello Mohamed, Thank you for your email. No, upon completion you would receive a certificate of achievement. It is not a nationally recognised qualification and does not carry UCAS points. It may be worth looking into some of the regulated qualifications such as the Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training, and speaking to any potential universities about their entry requirements if you are looking to progress into Higher Education.
