Description

Learning Outcomes Module 1.0

Stonebridge Risk offers a number of classroom, on-the-job and e-learning training modules that are aimed at Management, Store Sales Staff, Supply Chain and Loss Prevention Teams. Module one is an overview of loss prevention and to the course as a whole.

Learning Outcomes Module 2.0

Module two is an introduction into loss prevention, looking briefly at what pressures retailers face and what methods are available to reduce those pressures. We will ask you to answer a short survey to help you identify the current loss prevention strategies your business has in place to get you to start and think about how you can improve this and help further reduce shrinkage. You will also be shown various industry standard job descriptions, which you can use to further develop your career within loss prevention.

Learning Outcomes Module 3.0

The ECR Europe Shrinkage Group was established in 1999 to provide European retailers and manufacturers with a forum to explore new ways of addressing the perennial problem of shrinkage. Since then it has generated a considerable amount of new knowledge and ideas that have been of real benefit to the industry, not least the Loss Prevention Road Map, the Loss Prevention Pyramid and more recently the Loss Prevention Benchmarking Tool.

Learning Outcomes Module 4.0

Shrinkage is the loss of inventory that can be attributed to factors including employee theft, shoplifting, administrative error, vendor fraud, damage in transit or in store and cashier errors that benefit the customer. Shrinkage is the difference between recorded and actual inventory.

Stonebridge Risk have developed a system of staff development that shows you have an active interest in the workforce, this in turn creates a deeper and more fulfilling professional relationship between staff and management. If your staff are happy and feel you care they will be less likely to do anything untoward, if they feel wanted and like an actual team instead of hired help or even worse a number, they will want to make an impact and ultimately increase sales and reduce wastage, theft, fraud, errors, damages etc.

Learning Outcomes Module 5.0

Here at Stonebridge Risk we pride ourselves with the creation of the LP Toolbox. As a student of Stonebridge Risk eLearning, we have provided you with access to some of the unique contents of the Toolbox. We have included risk assessments, Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) analysis and store tour documents for you to practice with for the duration of the course.

Learning Outcomes Module 6.0

Module six is a comprehensive look at retail loss prevention investigations. We will be covering collection and storage of evidence, witness and suspect interviews, different types of crime including theft, fraud and embezzlement and how to conclude a case file for a successful prosecution.

Learning Outcomes Module 7.0

As part of the course we have included a cross section of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for your use. These SOPs are a series of step-by-step instructions compiled by the business to help staff and management to carry out routine operations. SOPs aim to achieve efficiency, quality output and uniformity of performance, whilst at the same time reducing miscommunication and failure to comply with industry regulations. These SOPs pertain to security procedures, and include the list below. The LP Toolkit includes a full compliment of agreed SOPs.

Learning Outcomes Module 8.0

The Health & Safety Executive was created by the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and is designed to help protect employees and the general public as well as the environment from harm. Various individuals within your company have specific jobs they need to be performing in order to comply with Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) however it is every individual's responsibility to communicate something which they perceive to be a hazard, risk or threat so that it can be assessed and steps can be taken to prevent or reduce this harm.

Learning Outcomes Module 9.0

Emerging threats within retail have grown exponentially over the last decade and as such we need to be aware of the new threat landscape. Where once our main concern would have been related to external theft and occasional robberies, we now have to consider international terrorists, 'lone wolves' and homegrown fanatics. This module will provide you with the basic tools to define emergency planning and reactive response.

Learning Outcomes Module 10.0

To ensure customer satisfaction and repeat custom we must establish a correctly stocked and replenished store which requires the supply chain to be lean and efficient. If the supply chain is not running smoothly we will be unable to meet our customer's demands. As we have established, out of stocks, internal theft and damages in transit all constitute shrinkage in regards to the supply chain. Stock-taking or inventory is the verification of quantities of merchandise held in the store or warehouse, this is completed to provide a physical audit of stock / discrepancies. It is here, post-reconciliation that we discover the truth about known and unknown shrinkage.

Module 11.0

Organised Retail Crime (ORC) refers to professional shoplifting, cargo theft, retail crime rings and other organised crime occurring in retail environments. One person acting alone is not usually considered an example of organized retail crime. These criminals move from store to store and even city to city. Working in teams, some create distractions while others steal everything from baby formula to DVD. Often, they are stocking up on specified items at the request of the organised crime leader.

Learning Outcomes Module 12.0

A comprehensive managed effort to prioritise key business processes, identify significant threats to normal operation and plan mitigation strategies to ensure effective and efficient organisational response to the challenges that surface during and after an interruption to business. Business Continuity is often viewed as a necessary evil required to fulfil requirements of an insurer, a client audit or a regulatory review. Others see it as something that will show you how to prepare for and deal with an emergency should one arise. The simple truth about Business Continuity planning is that an organisation should be able to continue its operations through a disruption or have plans to recover key services to the extent required by its stakeholders to ensure minimal damage to reputation or market position whilst satisfying legal and regulatory obligations.
