Relaxation Therapy Course
Stonebridge College.
Summary
Overview
No human being can function without stimulation and challenges, and stress and stressful situations very often produce this challenge. It provides the excitement, impetus and motivation but unfortunately, also the distress and anxiety. If we have the ability to get ready for action, our bodies also have the built-in ability to relax.
Through the parasympathetic nervous system and quieting of the endocrine system, this ability is the body's natural tendency to restore to homeostasis. The continued, fast-paced lifestyle very often keeps the stress-response activated. These people are then physically, mentally and emotionally unable to relax and are in need of therapy. Relaxation Therapy techniques are useful skills which can be used to fight the stress demon of our times.
