This course is an introduction to accountancy. Learn how to compile a set of accounts, read financial information, manage fixed assets and depreciation, completing VAT returns, and understand fraud prevention.

Divided into five units
Unit One - Accounting the basics
Why accounts are important, the different legal entities and the five account types
Unit Two - Financial statements
Understand how accounts are formed, what to look for when considering credit trade with another company and associated risk. Learn how to produce the Profit and Loss and balance sheet.
Unit Three - Depreciation and the assets register.
Learn how to calculate depreciation and record management
Unit Four - Vat returns
When to register, how to calculate the VAT return
Unit Five - Detecting and preventing fraud
Understand how embezzlement happens and the best practice measure to prevent fraud happening to your business.
