Upon successful completion of this course, students will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement. This should help validate their learning experience and skill, and can be used as a resume builder.

Course Format

This course is divided into several modules and is delivered online through our interactive learning management system. Students are given access to the learning portal where they can access the course 24/7. This gives them complete control over the pace of their learning while also enabling them to study from home, in their offices or from a laptop while traveling.

Course Duration:

Normative or minimum period of study to complete this is 40 hours. Take note that this is only an estimate. The duration of completing the course still depends on the learner’s pace and ability to absorb information. Additionally, as the course is delivered online, learners have the options to divide and study the course in multiple sessions or go through it in one go.

Learners will be given full access to this course for 12 months from the date of enrolment. During this period, learners are given the flexibility to complete the course at anytime.

Description

Social care is the provision of personal care and social support to the elderly, children and adults with disability, people living in poverty, victims of abuse and neglect, and individuals with physical and mental health issues. Social care also aims to strengthen families as well as to protect human rights.

Social care services may also assist in the process of fostering and adoption, recovery from substance abuse, prevention of domestic violence, and provision of support for the homeless and people with learning disabilities.

The society is in need of social care workers who are dedicated to creating long-lasting social change. Getting the right experience and education can help you move towards this career and take part in implementing real change which the society needs.

At the end of this course, students shall develop a full understanding of:

(1) scope and definition of social care;

(2) standard social work practices;

(3) how to deal with risk;

(4) how to develop an evidence-based approach;

(5) how to develop personal accountability; and

(6) the provision of support for individuals in need of intervention.

To achieve these goals, this course shall make use of interactive materials to present the concepts of the topics to be discussed. Assessments shall be done after the entire course to check for knowledge retention and understanding.

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered.
