  • Extend their range of mathematical skills and techniques and use them in more difficult unstructured problems;
  • Develop an understanding of coherence and progression in mathematics and of how different areas of mathematics can be connected;
  • Recognise how a situation may be represented mathematically and understand the relationship between ‘real world’ problems and standard and other mathematical models and how these can be refined and improved;
  • Use mathematics as an effective means of communication;
  • Read and comprehend mathematical arguments and articles concerning applications of mathematics;

Is it necessary to have taken part in 'further maths' at secondary shool? Or can the content of this course be understood from just doing gcse maths?

Hi Sam, There is no requirements for our online courses but we do recommend for students to have basic knowledge at GCSE level in order to make studying that little bit easier. Further Maths would not be a requirement, as long as you felt confident with your GCSE Maths that would be fine.

onlineismorerelax asked:

is this course same as a-level course can you continue study at college on the same level ?

Answer:

The A-level, is an academic qualification offered by educational institutions in England, Wales and Northern Ireland to students completing secondary or pre-university education. The great thing about CloudLearn is that you dictate, how long it takes to complete. The full A-Level is 360 hours of study, so at 40 hours per week – that would be 9 weeks, 20 hours a week = 18 weeks, 10 hours per week = 9 months. It’s totally down to you and your commitment to study.
