Overview

Based on the very latest version of Microsoft 365) this CPD certified course covers Microsoft Word and Excel at intermediate to advanced level together with Access and Publisher at beginner to intermediate level. It is designed as a follow on course to our Office IT Essentials course but can be studied without having done the Essentials course provided you have a good grasp of the basics of Excel and Word.

We provide tutor support throughout the course which you study via our online learning portal. You have access to the course for 12 months.

Description

We provide tutor support with this course and there is more detail about what it covers below. Each topic is split into a series of lessons which gradually build your knowledge. There are regular Tutor Marked Exercises and Quizes along the way to help you consolidate your learning and track your progress.

Our tutors are not just there to mark you exercises however and are only a message away of you need any help. As well as the lessons there are video tutorials to demostrate key functionality.

In Excel 2 you will cover:

  • advanced formatting and data manipulation
  • importing and exporting data
  • data consolidation
  • outlines and complex functions
  • advanced filtering and charts
  • sharing workbooks for collaborative working

In Word 2 you will cover:

  • templates and styles
  • advanced tables and columns
  • macros and forms
  • mail merge
  • multiple-user documents

In Publisher you will cover:

  • design and layout
  • entering and manipulating text
  • using pictures and shapes
  • styles and formatting
  • multi-page documents

In Access you will cover:

  • creating a database
  • entering and editing base data
  • creating and running queries
  • creating reports

Who is this course for?

Anyone working in a modern office who wants to get to grips with the key applications in Microsoft Excel.

Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements but we do recommend completing our "Office IT Essentials" course first. You do need to have a basic knowledge of Excel and Word before taking this Office IT Extras course but need no prior knowledge of Access or Publisher.

You will need a PC or laptop with MS Office 365 installed.
