Total Qualification Time

This is an estimate of the total length of time it is expected that a learner will typically take to achieve and demonstrate the level of attainment necessary for the award of the qualification, i.e. to achieve all learning outcomes.

Total Qualification Time comprises GLH and an estimate of the number of hours a learner is likely to spend in preparation, study or any other learning, including assessment, which takes place as directed by, but not under the supervision of a lecturer supervisor or tutor. The credit value, where given for qualification, is determined by TQT, as one credit corresponds to 10 hours of learning.

Guided Learning Hours

These hours are made up of all real-time contact time, guidance or supervision of a learner by a lecturer, supervisor, tutor, trainer or other appropriate providers of education or training.

Internally assessed and externally quality-assured portfolio of evidence.

All units of the Level 3 Teaching Assistant course will be internally assessed using various methods, including multiple assignments or tasks such as designing a leaflet or booklet, charts or diagrams, or setting up an information board.

Successful candidates will be awarded an NCFE CACHE Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning certificate.

Would this qualification allow me to teach primary school children also is the exam online based ?

Dear Melissa, To work as a primary school teacher in a maintained school (England and Wales), you must have a degree and achieve qualified teacher status (QTS) by completing a period of initial teacher training (ITT) , (initial teacher education (ITE) in Wales. You must also register with the EWC to teach in Wales. Independent schools, academies and free schools are permitted to employ teachers without QTS but, in practice, this is uncommon. The exam (assignment) is online based. Thanks
