Overview

This qualification has been designed to provide underpinning knowledge of creative writing skills for learners who are interested in developing their talents. We cover topics such as genre, character creation and dialogue writing and can support learners who intend to choose writing as their career path.

Description

Learners will develop knowledge and skills to be able to produce a piece of creative writing that has plot, mood and characters. Learners will also be able to evaluate and review their own work - and that of others - to suggest improvements.

We will be working on reading, writing and reviewing different genres. Learners who have already started writing can develop ideas and receive feedback from the tutor and other learners, while those who have not yet begun to write creatively will be able to discuss ideas and develop the confidence and skill to practise different styles.

Sessions are informal, supportive and friendly. Delegates can attend workshops as well as writing in their own time.

Who is this course for?

The Level 3 Award in Creative Writing is for learners who are interested in developing such skill for their own enjoyment or for their future career.

There are no entry requirements and any learners with additional needs will be supported.
