Overview

This qualification is designed for those learners wishing to gain a nationally recognised qualification in first aid and become emergency first aiders in their workplace. This qualification meets the requirements for training emergency first-aiders in those organisations that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first-aid needs assessment. The topics within this qualification are regarded by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) as being important in maintaining good practice in the safe, prompt and effective treatment of injuries and ill health in the workplace. The qualification provides learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills in emergency first aid.

Description

The HABC Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (QCF) has been accredited by the regulators of England and Wales (Ofqual and the Welsh Government) and is part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). It is supported by Skills for Health, the Sector Skills Council for health. The qualification has a minimum guided learning hour value of 8 hours. The Health & Safety Executive (HSE), in addition to this guidance, have stipulated that the minimum contact hours for this qualification, excluding breaks, should be no less than 6 hours over 1 day
