Working with children and young people is one of the most rewarding and exciting jobs opportunities. This training course is designed to allow learners to build the knowledge and skills required when you are working under supervision with children and young people aged from birth to 19 years of age. This qualification opens the door to a wide range of careers in child care, ranging from play work, childminding, nannies to teaching and nursing assistants.
To complete the course, the certificate requires 35 credits.

There are a number of methods as to how your tutor will assess you. Direct observation within the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments and other tasks are methods of assessments which this may include.
You are able to complete this course within 3 to 6 months.
You will be awarded with a NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce certification
The awarding body is CACHE.
You will be able to progress onto a Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce and look into Early Years Educator qualifications if wanting to work with children from birth to five years of age. You will then be able to have a full and relevant Early years Educator status.
This course is suitable for anyone who wants to work within the children and young people’s workforce.
Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
In order to show your competence in both knowledge and skills, you will be required to be working, volunteering or on practical placement.
Upon completion, you are able to apply for assistant roles as a Pre-school worker, in Children Centres, Day nurseries, Nursery schools, or nursery classes.
