Description

The IOSH Managing Safely course concentrates on training the manager or supervisor to apply sound management principles to health and safety issues in their team as part of a total management strategy. This course is modular in nature and can be tailored to meet business requirements.

Course Objectives

On completion of this programme candidates will be able to:

• Apply basic management principles and practices to health and safety issues

• Set practicable health & safety objectives and be able to plan and implement courses to achieve those objectives

• Recognise risks present in the workplace and be able to select appropriate control measures

• Take account of the risks posed by human factors

• Ensure that adequate information, instruction, training and supervision is provided within the workplace

• Investigate all incidents involving injury or damage in order to determine the causes and to take appropriate remedial actions

• Communicate effectively on health and safety issues with superiors, work people, and health and safety professionals The examination consists of: (i) Multiple choice and short answer test paper of 25 questions (ii) A practical project.

Course Duration

This course is normally delivered over 4 days (22 hours). Delegates who successfully complete the written and practical assessments at the end of the course are awarded an Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Managing Safely certificate.
