Overview

Infertility Awareness Diploma course is a fabulous addition to anyone working in fertility or private practice and also a good starting point for anyone interested in a fertility career. Negative thoughts, emotions and behaviours can lead to increased anxiety and depression and sabotage your goals to conceive. Emotional and psychological blocks can get in the way of conception. Your relationship with your partner really holds the key. If you are feeling anger and resentment towards your partner, not enjoying sex and not really ‘connecting’ with your partner, but simply existing alongside in a vacuum, this passion-starved existence is hardly conducive to making a baby together. There are many Licensed Clinics in the UK providing investigations and treatment for people with fertility problems. Each Clinic must have an independent infertility counsellor as a member of staff as part of their Licence requirements. Most work within the Clinic setting, and some work on their own premises. Sometimes they are advertised in online, and sometimes they are advertised locally or through the NHS job site. If you are considering trying to get a job as an infertility counsellor or therapist, Infertility Awareness Diploma is a good starting point. All experience is valuable.

Every human being has a right to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health. Individuals and couples have the right to decide the number, timing and spacing of their children. Infertility can negate the realisation of these essential human rights. Addressing infertility is therefore an important part of realizing the right of individuals and couples to find a family. Addressing infertility can also mitigate gender inequality. Although both women and men can experience infertility, women in a relationship with a man are often perceived to suffer from infertility, regardless of whether they are infertile or not. Infertility has significant negative social impacts on the lives of infertile couples and particularly women, who frequently experience violence, divorce, social stigma, emotional stress, depression, anxiety and low self-esteem.

Description

Infertility Awareness Diploma course has been created to provide a deep understanding of the condition - its causes and how it is diagnosed and treated.

In some settings, fear of infertility can deter women and men from using contraception if they feel socially pressured to prove their fertility at an early age because of the high social value of childbearing. In such situations, education and awareness-raising interventions to address understanding of the prevalence and determinants of fertility and infertility are essential. Availability, access, and quality of interventions to address infertility remain a challenge in most countries. Diagnosis and treatment of infertility are often not prioritized in national population and development policies and reproductive health strategies and are rarely covered through public health financing. Moreover, a lack of trained personnel and the necessary equipment and infrastructure, and the currently high costs of treatment medicines, are major barriers even for countries that are actively addressing the needs of people with infertility.

Infertility Awareness Diploma course prepares both individuals new to Infertility education as well as experienced educators in the early and mid-stages of their careers. The program is suitable for healthcare professionals who need additional training in Infertility to meet the needs of their clients.

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
