Overview
From Gregor Mendel’s experiments with garden peas that helped start the systematic study of heredity to being able to predict and treat genetic disorders in humans, the study of genetics has come a long way. The Genetics Diploma Course will provide you with a foundational understanding of genetics, its related subjects, and the development of this fascinating field of study.
The course begins with the basics of genetics, as you learn about the role of genes and what gametes, zygotes, haploids and diploids are. You’ll be introduced to nucleic acids (i.e. DNA and RNA), which make up genes, how DNA can replicate itself as well as produce RNA and proteins, and further your understanding of the genetic code.
