Description
This research-led programme enables students to study one of several specialist areas of literature which ranges in period from the medieval to the contemporary. Students benefit from expert supervision and join the thriving School with an energetic, creative and well-resourced research culture. We normally offer supervision in the following areas: medieval literature renaissance and early modern literature; eighteenth century and romantic period literature and culture; victorian literature; fin-de-siècle and modernism; postcolonial literatures; american literature and culture; children’s literature; theatre studies; film.

Requirements:
A 2.1 Honours degree, or international equivalent, in English. PhD applicants also require a Master's degree. Applicants whose first language is not English require IELTS 7.0 or equivalent.
