constituent present in the soil including the group of organism present such as
microorganisms, and macrofaunal. It will also discuss topics such as the
characteristics, numbers and biomass, functional importance, and influence of
the complex soil matrix. Participants will learn about how and why soils are
under threat both at a local and global scale. This course will also emphasise on
sustainable soil use and will prepare participants to handle today's
environmental issues, such as soil and water conservation, nutrient
management, sustainable agriculture.
