Overview

Diploma in Pesticide Safety - Level 3

We all know that pesticides are used to kill or control pests in residences, agriculture and other productive activities. However, it should also be understood that pesticides are equally harmful for humans and could lead to pesticide poisoning, respiratory difficulties, cancer and in some cases even death. Therefore, pesticides have to be administered with lengthy precautions and this Diploma in Pesticide Safety – Level 3 will show you exactly how to do it. All you need to enroll in this course is a recognised qualification at level 2 or above in a related disciple.

This informative course will compare between pesticides and insecticides to enlighten you on the ways they can enter the body and the routes of exposure. This course will also discover the various pesticides that are used in the production of agricultural plants and in public health, after which the course curriculum will guide you on how to handle and administer them in a proper and safe manner.

This course will present the learners with the worker protection standard requirements that has to be followed by each and every individual in agricultural establishments and commercial pesticide handling establishments. You will also get to learn about pesticide poisoning and on how to handle such an emergency, all the while learning the various pesticide terminology that might prove worthwhile in your agricultural, forestry, farming or healthcare career.

The course has been endorsed under the Quality Licence Scheme. This means that Global Edulink* has undergone an external quality check to ensure that the organisation and the courses it offers, meet defined quality criteria. The completion of this course alone does not lead to a regulated qualification* but may be used as evidence of knowledge and skills gained. The Learner Unit Summary may be used as evidence towards Recognition of Prior Learning if you wish to progress your studies in this subject. To this end the learning outcomes of the course have been benchmarked at Level 2 against level descriptors published by Ofqual, to indicate the depth of study and level of demand/complexity involved in successful completion by the learner.

The course itself has been designed by Global Edulink* to meet specific learners’ and/or employers’ requirements which cannot be satisfied through current regulated qualifications. The Quality Licence Scheme endorsement involves robust and rigorous quality audits by external auditors to ensure quality is continually met. A review of courses is carried out as part of the endorsement process.

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
