The Level 3 Diploma in Law is a 60 credit qualification and is the equivalent level to an A-Level or Access to higher education Qualification. It has been designed for learners who wish to progress to study a law degree but may not have the traditional entry qualifications usually required.

Qualification structure
Level 3 Diploma in Law consists of 4 mandatory units for a combined total of 60 credits.

Assessment and verification
All units within this qualification are internally assessed and externally verified by the awarding body. The qualifications are criterion referenced, based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes.
To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, learners must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria.

Level 3 Diploma Law is awarded by ATHE, UK - OfQual, an awarding body by UK government's regulator of qualifications.

The Diploma will provide you with a firm grounding in terms of legal knowledge and understanding, alongside the opportunity to develop the academic and research skills you will need on an LLB or BA degree course in law.
There are no formal requirements for specific prior qualifications or levels of attainment.
However, if you have not already achieved a level 2 qualification in English and/or maths, you will normally be expected to take a GCSE or Level 2 Functional Skills qualification alongside this Diploma in order to support your progression to higher education.
