Almost every business relies on the confidentiality, integrity and availability of its data. Protecting information, whether it is held electronically or by other means, should be at the heart of an organisation’s security planning.
This Cyber Security course highlights the importance of digital information, defines Cybercrime and describes how Cybercrime can cause extensive damage both to an organisation and to the individual. It effectively explains the different types of Cybercrime for example, Viruses, Worms, Adware, Spyware and Trojan and emphasises the importance of basic computer safety. Users will understand why virus checks, secure passwords, user accounts and browser safety all help reduce the risk of a cyber attack.
Additionally, the term “Social Engineering” for example, Phishing, Baiting and Scareware is explained and the damage criminals can do to software applications and operating systems is discussed. Users will understand how they can be tricked into providing security passwords or access to their devices.
On completion of the Courses123 Cybersecurity Course employees will understand what they need to do if they have been a victim of a malicious attack or if they detect anything unusual on their device.

Who is this course for?
This course is ideal for all Managers and employees who need to know how to protect themselves and their organisation from Cybercrime.
Course Objectives:
- To highlight the importance of protecting digital information (information held on devices and networks) and the consequences of an information security breach.
- To describe some common types of crimes carried out on devices and networks (known as cybercrime).
- To discuss the steps you can take to reduce the risk of Cybercrime and what to do if you are a victim of Cybercrime.
Requirements
Once the 60 minute course has been completed, users are required to take a final test consisting of 10 questions. The final test has a minimum pass rate requirement of 70%.
On successful completion of the test, users can download and print off a completion certificate.
