Overview
End of life care workers help to ensure that patients’ final wishes are fulfilled, and provide emotional, physical, social and spiritual support. Whilst someone is approaching their last days or weeks, palliative care provides a support system to help patients live as actively as possible until death, enhancing quality of life right to the end. By choosing a career in end of life care, you’ll play a truly vital role in supporting the patient and their family at every stage of this difficult journey.
The world needs more compassionate support workers to take care of our most vulnerable, so if you’d like to step up to the plate, this level 3 certificate in end of life care course is a great starting point. You’ll explore different attitudes towards death and dying, gain an understanding of how to overcome communication barriers at the end of life, create a person-centred approach to palliative care, and offer appropriate support throughout the bereavement process.
