Units Covered.

• Unit 1 - Introduction - This unit is designed to provide an introduction to COVID-19, where it is believed to have originated from and the impact it has had so far globally, especially on the economy and education. The unit will finish by explaining the latest Government guidance for COVID-19.
• Unit 2 - Identifying and assessing risks to close contact workers - In this unit you will look at the importance of effective risk assessments for close contact workers with regard to COVID-19 and that in a close contact setting, the individuals who work there may be more likely to be infected with COVID-19 as there is increased risk of coming into contact with an infected client/customer.
• Unit 3 - Symptoms of COVID-19 - This unit will look at the different symptoms experienced from the virus and why some people are more affected than others. You will also learn about people who have had COVID-19 and the handful of consistent symptoms between individuals, both in adults and children.
• Unit 4 - Preventing the spread of COVID-19 - In this unit you will look at possible ways of minimising and preventing the spread of Coronavirus. You will learn the concept of social distancing and in keeping a safe space between people so that the virus has less chance to transmit from one person to another. As well as learning who maybe more at risk.
• Unit 5 - Keeping clients safe - In this unit of our COVID-19 Close Contact course you will learn that the wearing of a face covering should be encouraged by all who work within a close contact setting and all who visit it, and the correct use of a face covering is vital. The face covering should fit snugly over the mouth and the nose and should not be touched when it is on the face.
• Unit 6 - The new normal - In this unit you will look at the impact the virus has had so far on society and consider the ‘new normal’ that all of us will need to face. You will also look at the ways in which you can support your wellbeing and mental health.

Anyone who works in a close contact job, including hairdressers, beauticians, massage therapists, funeral directors and gym workers.
