Overview
The TQUK Level 2 Award in Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Young People (RQF) qualification is suitable for learners working, or wishing to work, with children and young people supporting Child Protection. This includes those in voluntary or unpaid positions. Such positions would be a Teaching Assistant, Teacher, Nursery Assistant, Care Worker etc.
The qualification covers how to safeguard and protect children, young people and practitioners in the workplace as well as how to respond to evidence or concerns that a child or young person has been abused.
Child protection is paramount in all environments working with children.

Level 2 Award in Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Young People (RQF)
Description
The Childrens Act 2004 places duties on a range of organisations to ensure they have regard to the need to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. This includes the need for appropriate safeguarding training, as employers are responsible for ensuring staff are competent to carry out their responsibilities towards safeguarding of children and young people. This qualification would meet this requirement.
Duration
The guided learning hours for this RQF qualification is: 10 hours
Course Content:
The course consist of one unit. The contents are outlined below:
- Understand how to safeguard and protect children, young people and practitioners in the workplace
- Know how to respond to evidence or concerns that a child or young person has been abused.
Assessment:
This qualification is assessed by open-response workbook. This assessment model requires learners to provide a short response to prescribed questions within a workbook set by TQUK and The Learning College. Successful learners will have to demonstrate knowledge and understanding across the qualification syllabus.
Additional certification fee will apply upon completion of your qualification.

Must be over the age of 16 years
There are no prerequisites for this qualification.
It is recommended learners have a level 1 in literacy and numeracy before registering onto the qualification.
Learners must also posses a good understanding of English.

Answer:Hello Rahwa, Your qualification would be assessed from the work you have completed in form of a portfolio of evidence. Basically you will complete your research and then answer the questions. Your Tutor will then assess it so no exams or tests. Hope that helps Warm regards TLCG Team
