At the end of this course, students shall learn how to: (1) understand the study of educational psychology; (2) use evidence-based practice approach; (3) understand the importance of intelligence in psychology; (4) nurture educational success; (5) take care of children with special educational needs; 6) understand dyslexia; (7) be familiar with panic and anxiety for mathematics; (8) teach children in autism; (9) be familiar with equipping teachers in dealing with classroom behaviour; (10) address the issue of bullying in schools; (11) be aware of psychological approach to school phobia; and (12) understand how school ethos impact on student’s identity.

Description
Educational psychology is the distinct scientific study of human learning that includes methods of study and a resulting knowledge base. Understanding the process of teaching and learning as well as developing ways of improving procedures are also scope of educational psychology. One of the roles of an educational psychologist is to counsel students with learning disability issues or classroom behaviour problems.
At the end of this course, students shall learn how to: (1) understand the study of educational psychology; (2) use evidence-based practice approach; (3) understand the importance of intelligence in psychology; (4) nurture educational success; (5) take care of children with special educational needs; 6) understand dyslexia; (7) be familiar with panic and anxiety for mathematics; (8) teach children in autism; (9) be familiar with equipping teachers in dealing with classroom behaviour; (10) address the issue of bullying in schools; (11) be aware of psychological approach to school phobia; and (12) understand how school ethos impact on student’s identity.
To achieve these goals, this course shall make use of interactive materials to present the concepts of the topics to be discussed. Assessments shall be done after the entire course to check for knowledge retention and understanding.
We all learn differently and the field of educational psychology through further studies has helped in discovering different strategies how to bridge the gap between learning issues and disabilities and education.
