Overview

This fantastic, brand new CACHE qualification will provide you with the knowledge, skills and understanding you need to work directly with children or young people in primary, secondary or special schools.

To complete this qualification you must already by working in a school or college on a paid or voluntary basis and you must have a school mentor who can observe you (unless you're enrolled on the option to have a visiting assessor, in which case a Teaching Assistant College assessor will observe you in school).

All units are assessed through a range of evidence entered into an ePortfolio.

Our ePortfolio system enables you to view eLearning content, upload work, view your feedback from your outstanding, friendly tutor and monitor your progress.

Throughout your course you will be provided with unlimited support from your personal tutor in addition to regular progress reviews.

Evidence can be submitted in a range of different formats to suit your learning style, from essays to presentations, from observations of your practice in school to diaries about the fantastic work you're doing with the children.

There are no exams to complete this qualification.

Who is this course for?

Anyone working in a role supporting learning such as a Teaching Assistant (TA), one-to-one Support, Learning Support Assistant (LSA) or learning mentor.

Requirements

You should be at least 16 years old with a good standard of written and spoken English. No formal qualifications are needed.

You need to have a placement in a school setting to gain experience. We recommend spending at least 1 day each week in school, however there is no set requirement. Your placement could be paid or voluntary.
