Overview

The Edexcel BTEC Level 4 HNC Diploma in Computing and Systems Development (QCF) is a
qualification with a minimum of 120 credits of which 45 credits are mandatory core.
The Edexcel BTEC Level 4 HNC Diploma programme must contain a minimum of 65 credits at
level 4.

Description

This is a fully flexible course, tailored to your needs. There are mandatory units that you must complete, with the option of using vendor qualifications to count as some of the credit. The mandatory units are:

  1. Business Skills for e-Commerce
  2. Computer Systems
  3. Employability and Professional Development
  4. Project Design, Implementation and Evaluation

We recommend that the first 3 are done in the first year. We also think that it will take someone working full time and studying part time around 2 years to complete.

Who is this course for?

This course is ideal if you are unable to attend a college or university, due to work or family commitments. If you are looking to further your career or you need the qualifications for a promotion or career change, this course deals with material around IT, management, networking and e-commerce.

Requirements

A level 3 qualification, such as BTEC Diploma in IT, A levels, however if you don't have these but do have experience in the workplace, then contact us and we can discuss your needs. Typically 80 UCAS points is required in a relevant topic.

Non-native English speakers and those students who have not had their final two years of schooling in English will need to demonstrate one of the following upon entry:

  • Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) B2
  • IELTS 5.5 (including 5.5 for reading and writing)
  • PTE 51
  • or equivalent

Career path

For those working as technicians, who would like to take the next step, or those who would like a career change.

As this is level 4, once complete you may be eligible for Professional Recognition.

This is a complete course, but can be continued with the HND Diploma, or jump straight in to a full degree course on the 2nd year.
