Overview
In this course you will gain a strong understanding of the role of nutrition in the human body by understanding each of the main food groups. You will learn about complex carbohydrates, polyunsaturated fats as well as the glycaemic index. We will then focus on understanding diets, well-being and obesity by examining the human energy balance, body detoxification as well as gaining a deep understanding of our metabolism.
We will also focus on examining special diets, children’s diets, marketing terminology and food labels. You will also gain practical guidance on how to affect human behaviour, understanding how to assess and measure dietary intake and how to adjust for specific needs. You will also learn about the dietetic management of disease, covering diabetes, disorders of the stomach, cardiovascular disease and food allergies.

AfN Course Certification
This course has been certified by the Association for Nutrition. It meets the AfN standards for nutrition training of individuals working at Levels 3 on the Public Health Skills & Careers Framework, which may include community food workers, nutrition advisers, nutrition assistants and health trainers. Answer:The course takes between 80-120 hours to complete and you have unlimited, lifetime access to your course. However you do need to complete your end of course exam within 12 months of commencing.
This was helpful.How can you progress after completing this course. Would pregression mean applying for a level 4 if available?
Answer:Yes, you can progress onto the level 4 and 5 diplomas, both of which are also certified by The Association for Nutrition.
