Description
This Level 3 qualification provides learners with an overview of older and traditional buildings, the range of energy efficiency measures available, how to evaluate their suitability and recommend their installation.
The qualification is designed for learners to obtain a recognised qualification in energy efficiency.
Mandatory Components:
1. Recognise the Age, Nature and Characteristics of Older and Traditional Buildings
2. Evaluate the Appropriate Options for Introducing Energy Efficiency Measures to Older and Traditional Buildings
3. Making Recommendations and Give Advice on Introducing Energy Efficiency Measures to Older and Traditional Buildings
Assessment:
This qualification is assessed via three multiple choice examinations, one for each of the three units.
Who is this course for?
The target audience includes the following occupational areas, but the list shown is not exhaustive:
- People who wants a recognised qualification in energy efficiency
- People with a background and experience in the construction industry
- Experienced craftspeople & general building operatives
- Proprietors of small building companies who have experience of working on various aspects of traditional (pre-1919) buildings, or plan to undertake this type of work
- Site managers and supervisors involved in managing contracts for the energy efficiency & retrofit of traditional (pre-1919) buildings
- Estimators, planners, architects, designers
- Installers of Solid Wall Insulation systems (Internal & External Wall Insulation)
- Installers of Passive Fire Protection measures.
Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for learners undertaking this qualification, however, experience in the construction industry would be a benefit.
It is principally designed for persons who are aged 18 years of age or older.

Retrofit Coordinator - £35,000-£49,500
Retrofit Assessor - £30,000 - £46,000
Energy Assessor - £27,500 - £45,500
