Overview

This is a category A asbestos awareness course. Its aim is to help those who could come into contact with asbestos to be aware of the dangers so they can avoid being exposed to it. It also provides architects and designers with additional information applicable to them.

Description

The IATP are a nationally recognised not-for-profit organisation that works in conjunction with the UKs Health and Safety Executive (HSE). The IATP accreditation logo on our course gives you the confidence that our Asbestos Awareness Training has been independently audited and meets the relevant Category A training requirements set out in the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.

  • How to reduce the risk of being exposed to asbestos

  1. Management surveys
  2. Refurbishment / demolition surveys
  3. The duty to manage asbestos
  4. The key roles and responsibilities that result from the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015

Each module in our course finishes with a test. These help you to check your understanding and prepare for the end of course test.

Asbestos awareness certificate

Students that complete our asbestos awareness course and achieve 70% or more in the final assessment are able to download the certificate immediately.

Unlike many other asbestos courses, the certificate does not have an expiry date on it. The certificate also has a unique reference number so that you can demonstrate its authenticity to your clients.

Who is this course for?

This course is for anyone that prepares or alters designs where asbestos may be present, or requires more in depth information about asbestos surveys, the duty to manage and duties on architects and designers by the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) with regards to asbestos.

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered.
