Benefits of ArchiMate 3
Enterprise architecture has become a fundamental practice for modern organisations. It allows them to develop holistic pictures of how they operate, incorporating all aspects of their structure including IT, security and business.
However, enterprise architectural concepts are not always simple to communicate to non-certified audiences. Even with other enterprise architects, the terminology alone may be insufficient, especially when communicating with less experienced users.
ArchiMate is a simple graphical language designed to help practitioners communicate enterprise architecture concepts with ease. It is an excellent tool for developing enterprise architecture artefacts, especially when used in conjunction with TOGAF, a framework which was also developed by The Open Group.
